5 Signs You Need a Painting Community

by | Apr 14, 2026

There are so many women sitting on the edge of starting something creative, something that would give them a sense of purpose, an outlet, and maybe even a little excitement in their day.

But they keep waiting. Waiting until they have more time, more confidence, or feel more “ready.”

Is that you, friend?

Readiness doesn’t look the way most people expect it to. If you’ve been craving creativity, connection, or simply something that’s just for you, these signs might feel very familiar. And if they do, it’s not a coincidence – maybe it’s finally time to join a painting community

Sign #1: You’re Stuck in Research Mode

If you’ve been watching painting videos, saving tutorials, or scrolling through inspiration for weeks or even months, you’re not alone. A lot of women get stuck in what I call “research mode.”

You’ve learned a lot. You’ve probably even picked out supplies or added them to your cart. But when it comes to actually starting, something keeps holding you back.

And while none of that time was wasted (it’s a great way to warm up your creative brain!), eventually, there has to be a shift from watching to doing.

Without structure or accountability, it’s easy to stay stuck here. You keep telling yourself, “just one more video,” but never take that first step.

What changes everything is having a place where people are expecting you. When there’s a class to join or a community waiting, you’re far more likely to show up. And once you do, that’s where progress REALLY begins!

Sign #2: You’re Overthinking Everything

Maybe you’ve already picked up a brush. You got the background painted, and then froze. You’re questioning every decision. What color should you use next? What if you mess it up? Does it even look right?

That spiral of overthinking is incredibly common, especially for beginners. It doesn’t mean you’re not creative or that you’re bad at painting. It simply means you don’t have enough guidance yet.

When you’re trying to figure out every step on your own, it becomes overwhelming fast. But when you have a clear, step-by-step roadmap to follow, everything feels lighter.

Instead of guessing, you’re guided. Instead of stressing, you’re enjoying the entire process of painting, having fun again!

Sign #3: You Feel Guilty Spending Time or Money on Yourself

This is one of the biggest blocks for so many women.

You might be thinking that spending money on supplies or a membership isn’t practical. Or maybe you feel like you should be using your time for something more “productive.”

But you are allowed to have something that’s just for you.

When you look at a membership like Painter’s Clubhouse, you’re not just paying for tutorials. You’re getting access to hundreds of designs, templates, and a supportive community, all for less than what many people spend on a single dinner out.

And when you spread the cost of supplies across multiple projects, it becomes one of the most affordable hobbies you can have!

More importantly, though, creativity gives you something deeper. It helps you feel more present, more fulfilled, and more like yourself again. It’s not a luxury. It’s a form of self-care that truly matters.

Sign #4: You’re Inspired, But Stuck

You see a door hanger you love and think, “I want to make that.” But then you hesitate.

Is it okay to match it? Is it allowed?

This is something that holds a lot of women back, and it doesn’t need to. Learning through imitation is how every artist starts. Inside the Painter’s Clubhouse, you are encouraged to follow along, recreate designs, and learn step-by-step.

That’s the process. You imitate first, and then over time, you begin to create your own variations and develop your own style. It’s a great way to learn!

Sign #5: You’re Craving Connection

This might be the most important sign of all.

Painting by yourself can be relaxing, but painting with others adds something completely different. It brings laughter, encouragement, and a sense of belonging. There’s something special about being in a space where people understand what you’re learning, celebrate your progress, and help you when things don’t go as planned.

When something goes wrong alone, it can feel frustrating. But when it happens in a community, you laugh, fix it together, and keep going.

If you’ve been feeling a little disconnected or like you’ve lost a part of yourself, this isn’t a sign that you’re not ready. It’s a sign that you need that connection.

You’re More Ready Than You Think

If any of these signs felt familiar, take that as your nudge. You don’t need more time. You don’t need more talent. You don’t need to feel completely confident before you begin.

You just need a place to start.

That’s where the Painter’s Clubhouse comes in!

Painter’s Clubhouse was created to give women a space to grow creatively, build confidence, and connect with others who are on the same journey. Inside, you’ll find step-by-step tutorials, monthly projects, and a welcoming community that will encourage you every step of the way.

If you’ve been waiting for the right moment, this is it.
