Door Hangers

What kind of wood do I use?

I purchase RevolutionPly from Lowes. It is a ¼” or 5mm Poplar Plywood Underlayment.

Where do you buy your blanks?

Funny that you should ask! I actually cut them myself! If you prefer not to cut your own door hangers, you can visit the “Blank Door Hangers” section of my shop!

Here are some great brush sets to get you started!

If you need to cover a large area and want to get the job done quickly and leave behind fewer brush strokes, the XL brushes below are a must!

Sponge Pouncers

If you need to make the perfect polka dot, or are needing to paint on a stencil, these are the best! This pack has 50 pouncers in 4 different sizes!

Paint Party Business Necessities

Staple Gun

If you don’t own a staple gun, you are missing out! I didn’t realize how many projects I would use this on until I got one! From reupholstering furniture to stapling bows on door hangers, this little beauty can tackle it all!

With the right blades this little jigsaw will cut your door hangers with ease! The quick release feature blade changing is a breeze too! These blades will make cutting intricate shapes so much easier! You can make tight turns and reduce wood splintering!

I’ve use this sander for almost 3 years now and I still love it! The sanding pads are Velcro, the pointed tip lets you get in tight places and it’s easy to hold! I use 80 grit.

Burlap & Jute String

I use so much jute string! I use it to create my bows and it’s the string that I hang my door hangers with! I have a tutorial for how to make the cutest bows using this burlap as a base.

You can grab some free priority mail boxes from the post office! Or you can get these amazing 24X18 boxes!

Arkon Mount

I use an ARKON. Use code PAINTERSCLUBHOUSE to save 20% off your order! You can find it here:

Painting Accessories

Charcoal Pencil

If you prefer to “write out” your hand lettering before painting it, these pencils are great! The white charcoal doesn’t show through the paint like pencil does!

Uni Posca Paint Pens

I love these paint pens! I always have a set of both white and black in all three sizes.

DecoArt Americana matte acrylic

I use DecoArt paint on all of my projects! If you are looking to buy a few colors and need a good variety!

Stencil Blank Material

This material is perfect to cut on a Cricut or Silhouette machine to make your own stencils! I have stencil cut files available in my shop here.

Protective Spray Sealer

I prefer to use Rustoleum Lacquer to spray all of my projects! It has a nice even shine! If your door hanger is going to be exposed to a lot of weather and rain, then I recommend that you seal BOTH sides for extra protection!

Writer Bottles

If you struggle with outlining or adding cute details to door hangers, try these refillable writer bottles! You can just squeeze the paint out as you go! It’s quick and easy!

Good ribbon is hard to find! It’s even harder to find unique patterns and colors! If you need a good place to purchase ribbon, go see what Deco Exchange has in stock! It changes weekly! So if you don’t see what you need, check back later!
