Prerecording Video Content
There are a variety of ways to come up with video content for your handmade business. The first and most popular way is with prerecorded videos. This is very easy and appealing to beginners because people feel like if they mess up they can just delete it and start over.
Facebook Lives
Another popular way would be to use Facebook Live. Facebook Live is intimidating to so many people because when you’re on a live video you feel pressured to do everything perfectly. Today, I want to encourage you to push past that pressure and know that it’s okay to mess up on Facebook Live. If anything, messing up on a live helps you to make more of a connection as it’s not all prim and proper. I can’t tell you how many times I have stumbled over my words, messed up a project, or made a complete fool of myself on Facebook live and you know what, it all worked together to help me better connect with my customer.
Utilize Instagram and Facebook Stories
Another way that you can share video content and make buying more personal is through Facebook and Instagram stories. If you’re scared of hopping on Facebook Live maybe starting with Stories is a great option because they’re short and don’t last forever. A Story is only 15 seconds longs and they are only viewable by the customer for 24 hours after you post. It’s important to note that these Stories are only going to be seen by people who currently follow you on either your Facebook or Instagram platform.
Speaking of Instagram, do you follow me there? Follow along with me on Stories!
Take Advantage of TikTok
If you want to be seen by more than just your current followers, you need to be taking advantage of Facebook Lives or even TikTok. TikTok has become my new obsession and I love it! I’ve only been doing it for a couple of years, so if you haven’t started a TikTok or if you’re just following and scrolling without creating video content, it’s not too late! TikToks are great because they can be a video as short as five seconds long or as long as three minutes. The great thing about TikTok is everyone is on there, no matter the demographic that you serve, I can promise you that it’s on TikTok.
