If you’re brand new to painting, here are a few things I always tell beginners to keep in mind as they go. 

Give yourself permission to learn

Your first project doesn’t have to be perfect. Every painter you admire had a first project too.

Trust the process

Sometimes a project looks messy halfway through. That’s completely normal.

Layer by layer, everything starts coming together. I’ve watched thousands of women experience that exact moment when they suddenly realize…“Wait…this actually looks good!”

Take your time

Painting isn’t a race. Many women tell me it’s become their favorite way to relax after work, unwind on the weekend, or enjoy a quiet afternoon with friends. It’s the slowing down and enjoying the process that makes it so fun!

The satisfaction that comes with finishing a project is amazing, but what I like most about painting is the community that comes from it.
