It’s heating up outside, so we thought we would take the Painter’s Clubhouse out for a picnic and for a dip in the pool! Well…not really! But we did paint a Picnic Basket and a Retro Swim Suit door hanger! These both would make a fantastic DIY addition to your summer porch decor.
We were so pumped to have Ashley DelRosario of Bless Your Art Designs as our Guest Painter this month!
“Hi I’m Ashley DelRosario, owner and artist of Bless Your Art Designs located in the beautiful Natural Bridge/Red River Gorge area of Kentucky. I started my painting journey back in 2012 when I began hand painting personalized glass ornaments for Christmas, then I began cutting and painting door hangers. Now I’m running my business full time and I also paint canvas shoes, wall art, lawn art, canvases, and so much more. I also provide paint parties, weekly children art workshops, and I am currently in the process of opening my own studio!”
Retro Swim Suit Door Hanger
Ashley taught the group how to paint the cutest Retro Swim Suit! The sunglasses and flip flops add even more tropical fun. If you’d like to paint your own vintage style swimsuit for summer, you can get the template and digital cut file here and the blank here. These would look great with your summer front porch decor. Or what about a fun beachy addition to your backyard pool or patio area?
I love all of the bright colors and patterns from the group:
Summer Picnic Basket Door Hanger
This month, I taught the clubhouse how to paint this Picnic Basket painted door hanger!
This picnic basket is loaded with so many colorful fruits and veggies! They say the more color you get in your diet, the healthier you’ll be! This looks like you’ve just loaded up at the Farmer’s Market and are ready to head out with the family to the lake on a breezy, warm day.
I taught the group how to freehand paint the blue gingham tablecloth and many of them used a basket weave stencil for the basket. (Find more tips in my blog about using stencils and making your own DIY stencils at home).
I love how the Clubhouse members changed it up a bit to make it their own! Do you see that little ant? These would be so fun hanging in your kitchen or dining room, too! If you’re ready to DIY the picnic basket, you can find the ready-to-paint blank right here. Not quite ready to try it yourself? I also offer a painted version that is shipped right to your door, ready to hang up!
